Center City Philadelphia is packed with lunch deals, drink specials and free events this month

Posted

Center City Philadelphia is giving residents, workers, and visitors plenty of reasons to skip the routine and experience everything downtown has to offer.

For one, Center City District is making weekday dining more affordable with the return of Let’s Do Lunch, running now through Aug. 28. With this initiative, participating restaurants across Center City will offer lunch specials priced at $10, $15, and $20 on weekdays.

This year's Let’s Do Lunch lineup showcases the variety of Center City’s dining scene: Diners can check out everything from casual cafés and neighborhood taverns to international cuisine and upscale dining. Popular destinations like Harper’s Garden, Gran Caffe L’Aquila, Darling Jack’s Tavern, Dolce Italian, High Street, Veda Modern Indian Bistro, and The Patio at Dilworth Park are all participating. All restaurants, menus, and additional details are available online.

Center City District Sips is also in full swing every Wednesday through Aug. 26. On those nights from 5 to 7 p.m., dozens of bars and restaurants throughout Center City offer discounted cocktails, beer, wine, mocktails, and appetizers. (A complete list of participating locations and weekly specials can be found online as well.)

Center City District also has a full lineup of free and seasonal programming this month. Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics kicks off Tuesday evenings with a free outdoor Zumba class for participants of all fitness levels. On Wednesdays, Sips celebrations continue at both The Patio at Dilworth Park and Cret Park, where guests can enjoy happy hour drink specials and discounted appetizers. Thursday wraps up the week with Arts on Center Stage, featuring free live performances on the Albert M. Greenfield Lawn at Dilworth Park. Throughout the week, The Patio at Dilworth Park will also host weekday happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m., offering discounted food and drinks beneath the backdrop of City Hall.
