The Philadelphia Eagles walked out of U.S. Bank Stadium with a 28–22 win over Minnesota, a game that showed just how dangerous their aerial offense can look when everything is clicking. Their Opening drive was 12 plays, good for 75 yards, and ate 8:01 off the clock. It was also the fourth straight game that the Birds lost the time of possession battle, this time by a 9-minute margin. While the passing game won the day, the running game was still a big concern, and injuries at OL played a factor again.
He played the type of game that should squash doubts. He completed all five of his deep passes for a career-high 215 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with 326 total passing yards for a perfect 158.3 passer rating. After the game, Jalen complimented his teammates for his big performance.
“You don’t have a game like that without the guys around you. Credit to them.”
Hurts had a 107.2 rating when targeting A.J. Brown and a 133.7 rating targeting DeVonta Smith. In the second half, he was 10-of-12, 240 yards, 2 TD. Jalen now has 14 career games with 300+ passing yards.
Saquon had 18 carries, though he managed just 44 yards. He was visibly frustrated at times during the game. Patullo stayed true to his word of running the ball more, but the running game is broken. Jeff Stoutland is the OL coach and running game coordinator. He needs to get the ground game going if the Eagles are going to be true contenders.
Hurts dropped a 79-yard strike into the arms of DeVonta Smith, the longest touchdown of Smitty’s career. Smith was simply unguardable against the Vikings. He finished with nine catches and 183 yards. The yards were also a career high for DeVonta, as well as the most by any receiver in 2025.
AJ came up big in the fourth quarter, hauling in a third-and-13 conversion and again on third-and-9 with under two minutes left for a gain of 45 yards to the Minnesota 11-yard line. He finished the day with two touchdowns and 121 yards on six targets.
AJ and DeVonta combined for 304 receiving yards and three touchdowns. It is also the third time both receivers each had over 100 yards in the same game. That is the most by an Eagles duo.
The Eagles OL had Landon Dickerson back, then lost Cam Jurgens early, and Brett Toth came in again, this time not at left guard, but at center.
The Eagles’ defense held the Vikings to five field goals on six red-zone trips. Their defense inside the twenty has been elite.
Hunt picked off Carson Wentz and ran 42 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Quinyon left the last game with a hamstring injury, and there was concern during the week about whether he would be able to suit up in Minnesota. Luckily, he was a full go. He blanketed Justin Jefferson, who only caught one pass for 10 yards in 20 matchups versus Quinyon.
Mukuba made his second interception of the season a possession after Jalyx Hunt’s pick. He also played the run better this week.
Baun led the team with 10 tackles, and Dean chipped in with six and a TFL, playing 31 of the 69 snaps. Campbell had more reps off the edge (almost half), mainly due to necessity, as the position was devoid of healthy bodies, but some were due to play design, as it has been all season.
Uche notched his first sack of the season and also had two TFLs.
Moro made his third, team-leading sack of the season and a TFL. He left the game injured late.
The Eagles' bend-but-don’t-break philosophy defined their day, and the team left Minnesota with another notch in the win column.
Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham, who played 15 seasons in Philadelphia, is rumored to be signing back with the team after the Birds have dealt with a plethora of injuries at edge and an in-season retirement.
Philly left Minnesota with an impressive win, but also concerns regarding depth along the lines and trouble establishing the running game. They face the Giants next week and will need to establish the run to start winning the time-of-possession battle. The Giants have already proven to be an opponent they can not take lightly.
