Get ready for a Halloween playlist that’s better heard by candlelight.
Fever’s Candlelight Concert series is putting a spooky spin on its usual performances with a Halloween-themed program at the Media Theatre for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Oct. 29.
The tentative lineup includes Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller,’ the theme from ‘The Exorcist’, ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Beetlejuice’, ‘The Addams Family’, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Ghostbusters’, alongside darker classical works like Saint-Saëns’ ‘Danse Macabre’ and Mussorgsky’s ‘Night on Bald Mountain’. The program is also set to feature music from ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’.
The candlelit setting is part of what makes the series so distinctive and special. The series brings local musicians into unique spaces around the city, like the Bok Building, Independence Seaport Museum and the Adventure Aquarium, and transforms them into intimate concert halls.
Musical showcases in the series are typically themed, with programs in the past from Vivaldi, Mozart, Queen, ABBA, Coldplay, Hans Zimmer and even arrangements from Warner Brothers movies.
For the Halloween edition, though, expect the mood to be a little darker — and the playlist a lot spookier.
Performances are set for Oct. 29 at 6:45 and 8:45 p.m. Doors open an hour before each performance. Tickets are on sale now and start around $37.
Halloween shows will be held at the Media Theatre for the Performing Arts, 104 E State Street in Media. The experience is open to guests ages 8 and older (with anyone under 16 required to attend with an adult).
Seating is assigned within each section on a first-come, first-served basis (and the venue is ADA-compliant).
