History is on tap this fall at the Historic Odessa Brewfest.

Set for Saturday, Sept. 12, from noon to 5 p.m., tickets are still available for the event, which will be held on the scenic grounds of the 257-year-old Wilson-Warner House (Delaware’s first house museum).

Every year, the Brewfest brings together craft beer, live music, food and living history, all in one place. And in 2026, the celebration carries special significance as the nation recognizes the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Beer has deep roots in the region, dating back to the 17th century when European settlers brewed their own beer along the Delaware River as an essential domestic craft, a release notes. Historic Odessa, once a colonial grain-shipping port and key Mid-Atlantic transportation hub, provides the backdrop for today’s beer lovers to “raise a glass in the same spirit of community and craft.”

Visitors will have plenty to explore at this year’s occasion with more than 50 breweries expected to pour throughout the afternoon. Guests can enjoy unlimited tastings through a wide range of styles, from hop-forward IPAs and crisp lagers to rich porters and stouts, and each attendee will also receive a commemorative 2-ounce tasting mug.

The festival has all the makings of a classic tasting experience, with commemorative gear, samples and bites. But Odessa also adds a taste of the past to its schedule, with events like a colonial brewing demonstration led by historical interpreter and Regimental Brewmeister Michael Carver, who will showcase the techniques and traditions early Americans used to brew beer.

For those looking to add a little friendly competition to the afternoon, the Brewfest will also host several opportunities to get involved with events like the men’s and women’s Steinholding Competitions and the popular Fusion Beer Mile (which combines running and beer-drinking in “a spirited test of endurance”). Lawn games, festival activities and artisan vendors will also be on site.

Anyone interested can also opt for VIP admission, which includes early entry, access to limited-release beers and a commemorative glass tasting mug. VIP admission ($75) begins at noon, general admission ($60) begins at 1 p.m., and the festival concludes at 5 p.m. There’s also a designated-driver option for $15.

Every ticket purchased helps support the Historic Odessa Foundation.

"This year's Historic Odessa Brewfest is especially meaningful as our nation commemorates its 250th anniversary," says Debbie Buckson, executive director of the Historic Odessa Foundation.

"Few places offer the opportunity to celebrate America's past and present quite like Odessa. Guests can enjoy exceptional craft beer, live music and unique experiences such as our colonial brewing demonstration and third annual Steinholding Competition, all while surrounded by the architecture, landscapes and stories that have shaped our community for more than two centuries."
