Breakfast-for-dinner lovers, music aficionados, and ’70s design enthusiasts now have a meeting place in Philly.
Percy Diner & Bar and The Sound Lounge sit along the ever-busy Front Street corridor in Fishtown. Amid a neighborhood packed with standout restaurants and bars, the concept sets itself apart with an all-day diner menu paired with a full bar, immersive retro aesthetics, and a music-driven atmosphere that carries from morning coffee through late-night cocktails.
The rebrand came after a brief wave of online discourse in late 2025 — Percy was named "most disappointing new restaurant" by Philly Mag. Percy leaned into the conversation, though, launching a charity T-shirt campaign and refining its menu and identity in the process.
And it's worked out quite well.
Currently, the restaurant opens at 9 a.m. daily, with a limited menu offered Monday through Wednesday and a full menu served Thursday through Sunday. Diners can indulge with bites like a Biscuit & Gravy Benny (with a base of brown butter biscuits), a Breakfast Burrito (stuffed with chorizo, eggs, salsa verde, crema potatoes and black beans), a Tuna Melt (served Philly-style on a pretzel bagel) and a Wings & Waffle dish (their own play on the classic chicken & waffles favorite).
What most people may really appreciate, however, are some of the heartier upgrades they add to timeless crowd-pleasers.
Are you a fan of French Onion soup? Percy throws some juicy onion rings on top, paired with sourdough and flavorful gruyere cheese. Does your meal need a fixing of pancakes? Along with ricotta in the batter, the restaurant also douses the cakes with enough cinnamon, sugar and flavor to rival a bakery. Love Disco Fries? Patrons can sink their teeth into spuds submerged in gravy, cheese curds and braised beef here.
Percy also offers classic early morning sides, deviled eggs, a Breakfast Sando (with pork roll), a Philly Grand Slam plate (think eggs, breakfast meat, potatoes and toast), a delightful turkey sandwich served on marble rye dubbed “The Rachel”, along with other savory bites.
And to finish things off on a sweet note, locals can order up a double chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, French toast sticks and their After School Sundae, which features peanut butter and strawberry swirled ice cream topped with strawberry preserves, peanut butter and fluff.
There’s also weekly specials, with a rotating list of offerings like fish & chips and BBQ meatloaf. In recent weeks, Percy has been offering a Nashville chicken sandwich complete with pickled green tomatoes, apple jicama slaw and herb mayo—and after one bite, it’s easy to understand why it has remained on the list.
Bar-wise, breakfast sippers can order up a Devil Bloody Mary, Bellini, espresso martini or other fun signature cocktails like the Percy Ranchwater (boasting housemade bell pepper-infused tequila with sparkling water and lime).
What’s really quirky here, however is the assortment of wine available (some of which is housemade). Think a Cherry fruit wine, an Oaked Ube honey wine, a Praytell Orange Popsicle wine, a new Fruit Snacks vino and more alongside some beer, and a few zero-proof options (and for those not imbibing, their “Near Wild Heaven” mocktail is a must-try).
Percy also leans into the diner vibe with plenty of coffee and soft drink options, with everything from a Cortado, matcha latte, raspberry iced tea and plenty of other sippers in between. Patrons can order any of these food and drinks in the restaurant’s dining room (which is designed to feel like a “true local hangout”), at the retro-inspired horseshoe bar, or at The Sound Lounge.
Connected to Percy Diner & Bar, The Sound Lounge boasts an intimate, music-centric space that carries the diner’s community-minded energy well into the evening hours. Since opening in May 2025, the venue has become a home for live performances, DJ sets, listening sessions, and other special programming centered around the intersection of music, hospitality, and nightlife culture.
The lounge’s retro-inspired interior (which plays well with Percy’s 1970s-inspired diner vibe ) was developed collaboratively by owners Seth Kligerman and Kyle Horne (Will Landicho is also an owner) alongside acclaimed interior designer Shawn Hausman. Hausman's résumé includes some Philadelphia restaurant interiors as well as being a co-founder of the legendary 1980s Area nightclub in New York City.
Anyone interested can find a schedule of musical encounters online for the Lounge, but most notably, you can find entertainment on the weekends and on Thursdays for Golden Hour Jazz with Marcus J. Moore (5 p.m.) and sets dubbed Spatial Awareness with different creatives (9 p.m.)
In many ways, Percy feels like a modern interpretation of what a neighborhood diner can be—equal parts comfort food destination, cocktail bar, and cultural gathering space. Between the playful spins on nostalgic staples, the immersive retro aesthetic, and the music-driven energy flowing through both the restaurant and The Sound Lounge, the Fishtown concept has managed to carve out a lane entirely its own. And after coming back with a sharper identity, Percy seems less focused on proving itself—and more focused on giving Philadelphians a good time.
