SEPTA will offer free rides home on the Broad Street Line from NRG Station after the MLB Home Run Derby and All-Star Game.
The transit agency announced that free rides from NRG Station will be available after the second round of the Home Run Derby on July 13, sponsored by DraftKings, and after the sixth inning of the All-Star Game on July 14, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lottery. The free service will run until 11:59 p.m. both nights.
“We successfully moved massive crowds from NRG Station for six FIFA World Cup matches, and we are ready to deliver safe, clean, and reliable service for MLB All-Star Week," said SEPTA General Manager Scott Sauer in a statement.
In addition to regularly scheduled Broad Street Line trains (now called the B trains), SEPTA will add six Sports Express trips before and after both the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game. All express trains will operate to NRG Station.
Fans can connect to the Broad Street Line from numerous bus routes, and free transfers are available from the Market-Frankford Line and trolley routes at 15th Street/City Hall, according to SEPTA. The line is also within walking distance of Center City Regional Rail stations and is accessible from the PATCO High Speed Line for riders traveling from South Jersey.
SEPTA will also add weekend Regional Rail service, including three additional inbound and outbound trains on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Paoli/Thorndale lines.
