SEPTA will suspend all bus and Regional Rail service beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, due to the ongoing snow storm.
The authority also intends to temporarily discontinue the G trolley, formerly known as Route 15, and trips have already been cancelled on the T1, the old Route 10. All remaining trolley routes will operate with reduced service, officials said.
Scott Sauer, SEPTA’s general manager, said the Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines are the “best bets” for those who need to utilize public transit in Philadelphia during the storm. The Norristown High Speed Line, or M, and the Media-Sharon Hill Line (D routes 101 and 102) are also scheduled to remain in operation.
“We will not bring back service until it is safe to do so, and I expect that we will have significant challenges through the week, with the dipping temperatures that will keep this snow and ice around for a while,” Sauer said at a Sunday morning news conference.
“So if you do have to travel tomorrow, please expect that, at a minimum, there are going to be significant delays and trip cancellations,” he added.
Riders are advised to visit SEPTA’s website or cellphone app, or check the authority’s social media channels, for the latest schedule updates.
On PATCO, meanwhile, trains are running on a snow schedule Sunday, with trips every 30 minutes.
