Sixers add MarJon Beauchamp on two‑way deal, waive Hunter Sallis

The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly made a roster adjustment following their loss to the Brooklyn Nets, signing forward MarJon Beauchamp to a two‑way contract and waiving rookie guard Hunter Sallis in the corresponding move. The transaction was first reported by Tony Jones of The Athletic.

Philadelphia has been searching for additional size and athleticism on the wing, especially with injuries thinning out their forward rotation. Beauchamp, a former first‑round pick (No. 24 in 2022), has been thriving with the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ G League affiliate. He is averaging 18.4 points, four rebounds, and three assists per game with the Blue Coats. He also showed a better shooting stroke while playing this season and during the G-League Winter Showcase.

Those numbers, paired with his 6’7” frame and defensive versatility, give head coach Nick Nurse another option on the wing, which the team has lacked due to injuries. Beauchamp also brings some NBA experience, as he has appeared in games with the Bucks, Clippers, and Knicks.

To make room for Beauchamp, the Sixers waived two‑way guard Hunter Sallis, who had struggled to carve out a role. Sallis appeared in just seven games for Philadelphia and played sparingly, including only 36.4 seconds in the loss to Brooklyn that preceded the roster change.

Even in the G League, Sallis had difficulty standing out, averaging 14.2 points on 39.2 percent shooting and just 20.0 percent from deep, numbers that made him the clear odd man out among the team’s two‑way players.

Beauchamp’s combination of length, athleticism, and improved shooting gives the Sixers a developmental piece who can potentially contribute immediately. His strong G League play and familiarity with the organization, signing an Exhibit 10 deal in the preseason, made him a natural call‑up candidate.

With Dominick Barlow and Jabari Walker already thriving in two‑way roles, Beauchamp adds another high‑upside option to the mix.
