Investigators released surveillance video and images Wednesday in an attempt to catch a man who shot an employee of a Bridesburg storage facility during a robbery earlier this week.
The victim, a 57-year-old man, was hospitalized in critical condition following the incident, which happened at around 7 p.m. Monday inside Good Deal Self Storage, on the 5400 block of Eadom Street, according to police.
In the clip, the suspect is shown arriving on an electric bicycle before entering the building’s office and pulling out a gun. He appeared to be wearing pantyhose or some other covering under a green ski mask.
Even though the employee complied and opened the cash register when the gunman announced a robbery, the suspect opened fire anyway, authorities said.
In addition to the mask, he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt under a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and black Jordan sneakers, according to detectives.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the PPD’s Shooting Investigation Group at 215-686-8271 or call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
