Temple University police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of young people who attacked a college student after chasing him or her into a lobby of a dormitory building early Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around 2:50 a.m. at Morgan Hall South, part of a complex housing more than 1,200 students near Broad Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, on the school’s main campus in North Philadelphia, officials said.

Inside the building, the teenagers struck the student, but the victim sustained only “minor injuries and declined medical treatment,” Temple’s vice president for public safety and police chief, Jennifer Griffin, wrote in a letter to the university community.

Temple’s Department of Public Safety on Sunday night released surveillance images of the suspects and asked anyone with information to email investigations@temple.edu or call 215-204-6200. Individuals can also call or text the Philadelphia Police Department tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Griffin stated that university officers are reviewing security video and working with representatives from the School District of Philadelphia and PPD to identify the perpetrators. Temple and PPD will be enhancing patrols in the area, she said.
