Get ready to raise a stein — Oktoberfest is coming back to Yards Brewing Company.
The Northern Liberties brewery will celebrate all things Bavarian on Saturday, Sept. 26, transforming its expansive outdoor loading dock and portions of the brewery and warehouse into a festive beer hall.
From noon to 4 p.m., guests can step into areas of Yards that are normally off-limits to the public for an afternoon filled with German-inspired food, beer, live music, games and plenty of Oktoberfest spirit.
The celebration will feature traditional Masskrugstemmen, the traditional German stein-holding competition, along with a costume contest for guests dressed in their best dirndls, lederhosen and other Oktoberfest attire.
Naturally, beer will be at the center of the celebration.
The tap list will include the return of Yards' Unter Dog Oktoberfest Lager, the brewery's fall seasonal. Guests can also expect Festbier, Hefeweizen and Schnitzengiggles, billed by the brewery as “the greatest beer in all ze world.”
Every paid admission includes an exclusive 0.5-liter Yards Oktoberfest stein. Early bird and general admission tickets also come with one complimentary beer fill.
Early bird tickets are $20, with just 100 available. General admission is $30, and designated driver tickets are $10 and include a stein that guests can collect at the end of the event.
The Oktoberfest celebration is rain or shine and is open to guests 21 and older.
If you can't make the festival, Unter Dog will be pouring in the Yards taproom throughout the month, along with a special Oktoberfest menu featuring German-inspired dishes.
Oktoberfest at Yards Brewing Company takes place Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. at 500 Spring Garden St. in Philadelphia.
