The Neshaminy School District has placed a high school basketball coach on administrative leave after video surfaced showing him allegedly headbutting a referee during a game.

Neshaminy head coach Jerry Devine apparently headbutted a game official after a foul call, ABC has reported, adding that Devine was ejected from the game after the incident.

“The athletic program at Neshaminy places the values of fair play and sportsmanlike conduct above all. We expect our coaches and staff to teach and uphold those principles, while acting in a professional manner at all times,” a district statement was quoted by ABC.

The incident was captured on a video stream broadcast by WBCB 1490.

The foul call came in a game against Pennsbury High School, a Neshaminy rival,CBSreported in a related article, also stating that Devine’s ejection from the game carries a mandatory one-game suspension.

The official stood up from the floor and was able to finish the remaining moments of the game, according to ABC.

Although there is no word about whether Devine will be charged in the incident, Middletown Township police are investigating, CBS added.
