MLS Matchday 19 Preview: Union looks for third straight win, first Müller vs. Son matchup of 2026

MLS Matchday 19 includes some heavyweight battles this weekend. 

The weekend starts on Friday night with NYCFC hosting Toronto FC, and then Saturday provides a full slate of night action.

Timo  Werner and the San Jose Earthquakes travel out east to take on FC Cincinnati and Evander. The Philadelphia Union will host Atlanta United in hopes of snatching their third straight win. The Vancouver Whitecaps host LAFC, giving us our first action of the season between Tomas Müller and Son Heung-min. The Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders clash in Portland in the Cascadia Cup. 

Nashville's lead in the Eastern Conference is dwindling, with Inter Miami two points behind them. There is a three-way tie for first in the West with Vancouver, LAFC, and San Jose all level with 33 points. It looks like we will see some shakeups in the West this weekend.
