A 26-year-old man was gunned down following an argument Monday afternoon inside a University City convenience store, police said.
The shooting happened just before 4:45 p.m. at a shop on Market Street, near 40th Street, according to authorities. Officers who were called to the scene found Savion Pollard-Poulson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, the PPD said.
Pollard-Poulson was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and staff there pronounced him dead at around 5:15 p.m., law enforcement officials added.
Investigators described the motive for the killing as an argument, though they did not disclose the nature of the dispute. The male suspect used a silver semi-automatic handgun and fled the scene in a black hooded jacket and blue jeans, according to police.
No arrests have been reported, as of Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
Through April 6, there had been 29 homicides in Philadelphia, down from 55 on the same date last year, according to police data.
