The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are set to lock horns this evening, but the pomp and circumstance surrounding the first edition of this rivalry game in 2026 is certainly not to the levels we are accustomed to seeing. Perhaps it’s the fact both teams come limping in with identical 2-4 records or that the Eagles are decimated with injuries playing this game without their top two wide receivers in DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks and of course, Jalen Hurts.
Nonetheless, one of these teams has to win this game. Here are our PSN score predictions:
This is a tough game to predict because Philadelphia has so many questions on offense. Losing Hurts is a significant blow, and there is no guarantee the Eagles can suddenly fix their problems with McKee taking over. But Saquon Barkley should be back, which would inject a big boost into the run game and should help McKee.
Dallas has its own issues, particularly on defense, and the Eagles are playing at home in a rivalry game. Philadelphia doesn’t need an offensive explosion to win this game; they need to respond to the adversity they face, show fight and adaptability, and get a win over a Dallas team to build on. I envision a tight game, with a Jake Elliott late 4th-quarter field goal sealing the win.
Prediction: Eagles 23, Cowboys 20
It doesn’t seem like it’s Dallas Week. The Jalen Hurts news certainly is deflating, but the Eagles have to forge on, looking to avoid dropping five in a row for the first time since 2016.
The offense has not provided any reason for optimism, and without DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks, it’s going to be an even tougher hurdle to jump over for Philadelphia. That’s why they need to feed Saquon Barkley against the worst-ranked defense the Cowboys will bring to Lincoln Financial Field. I think Barkley will provide some big runs to help open the passing game.
Speaking of the passing game and Tanner McKee, if Nick Sirianni and Sean Mannion are serious about finding answers on how to get the offense going with the backup quarterback, then a full week of practice incorporating quick passes out of the shotgun should be on full display in this one catering to McKee’s strengths.
Jake Elliott will need to come up big with his leg in this one. Although he’s only kicked and converted on all five of his field goals this season, he will deliver with a 50+ yarder to give the Eagles a late lead.
It won’t be pretty, but I think the team somehow claws its way to a victory.
Prediction: Eagles 24, Cowboys 21
In all likelihood, it’s probably going to be a difficult matchup on Monday night against Dallas. While the Cowboys defense allows the third-most yards per game this season (382.5 ypg), the Eagles offense will be operating with a backup quarterback (Tanner McKee) and hoping that running back Dameon Pierce can find the fountain of youth when he was nearly a 1,000-yard rushing back for the Houston Texans in 2022.
On the flipside of the equation, a banged-up Eagles defense will try to stop a Cowboys attack with plenty of weapons for Dak Prescott to cause pain at Lincoln Financial Field on primetime television. Dallas features one of the worst rushing units in the NFL behind just 76 yards per average over six contests. If Vic Fangio can continually force the Cowboys into passing downs and throwing the ball against Eagles cornerbacks, there might just be a celebration on South Broad that spills into Tuesday morning.
The winner of this Week 7 matchup takes a massive step towards keeping up with the New York Giants (4-2) sitting at the top of the NFC East. Despite the various medical ailments standing in the way, Philadelphia finds a way to secure an extremely tight win over their biggest divisional rival.
Prediction: Eagles 21, Cowboys 20
This isn't going to be pretty, not is it going to be a matchup that carries the intensity we're used to. A depleted Eagles offense does have a chance to get very 'Nick Foles' against a porus Cowboys secondary, taking advantage of checkdowns and protecting the ball, and with Saquon Barkley back in the fold, there's at least some reason to believe the team can carve out a key divisional win.
The worrying part for me isn't the injuries or how the matchups look, but moreso the trust in Nick Sirianni to make the right call throughout the night. We've seen on multiple occasions over the last few weeks that the Head Coach struggles to find a balance between being aggressive and being conservative. There's rarely a balance or local context and those decisions have backfired more than usual.
I do think the Eagles put up a big fight, but I feel that the undoing of Philly in this game will come from those tricky 4th down calls and a gameplan that shows no flavor whatsoever once again being shut down.
Prediction: Eagles 21, Cowboys 34
