South Street will soon transform into a dazzling display of holiday splendor featuring stunning lights, music, food, and plenty of shopping for the first-ever Holiday Night Market.

The South Street District is partnering with Coca-Cola to organize the event, which will take place Saturday, Nov. 22.

It all begins at 5 p.m. with a ceremonial tree lighting before the evening continues with a gift-shopping bazaar and a visit from the man himself, Santa Claus, who is set to arrive in a 73-foot decorated caravan and will kick off what promises to become the latest of Philadelphia’s many exciting holiday traditions.

Folks looking to meet the jolly ol' Kris Kringle can head to the North Pole Express table to write and send letters to St. Nick himself before meeting him in person for free holiday photos.

Families can enjoy the kids’ winter craft table, accompanied by hot beverages courtesy of Costa Coffee for adults, as well as a four-flavor Coke tasting experience. Adding to the cozy evening will be a fire pit and s’mores station hosted by Shotz of Love.

The evening will also feature more than 16 local vendors and small businesses, offering a diverse range of products, including handmade jewelry, unique fragrances, gourmet food, and festive apparel.

Vendors for the event, whose specialties range from bites to buys, include Urban Princess Boutique, Paddy Whacks Pub, Vera Austin Fragrances & Design, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, La Elite Couture Corp, Knockout Lettering, Garland of Letters Bookstore and more.

“This event is all about community,” organizers said in a release. “It’s a celebration of South Street’s local businesses and a way for Philadelphians to come together to kick off the holiday season in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods.”

From early shopping and photos with Santa to enjoying a cheerful holiday atmosphere, South Street's Inaugural Holiday Night Market is sure to spread plenty of holiday cheer.
