The team is still winless through 8 games.

The Philadelphia Flyers have not won a game this season. Their last win came on April 29, 2026, when they defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 2025-26 NHL playoffs.

At that point, Don Mattingly was on his second day as interim manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, while Cam York had just thrown his stick into the crowd after scoring the overtime game-winner.

Now, the team is off to the worst start in franchise history, 0-5-3 (3 points), and is 8th in the Metropolitan Division.

Per Hockey-Reference, the team ranks 32nd of 32 in goals for with 10 and 31st of 32 in goals against with 30. They are currently being outshot 277-166.

Through eight games, Trevor Zegras, Christian Dvorak, Travis Sanheim, and Travis Konecny are tied for the team's point lead with three each. Konecny leads the team in assists with three, while Dvorak and Matvei Michkov lead the team in goals with two each.

With all of that said, the Flyers' recent play shows some positives.

The team came back after falling behind by two goals on Tuesday to the Seattle Kraken. The game went to a shootout, and the Kraken ultimately won; however, after the game, Trevor Zegras spoke with the media about how he felt it went.

“I like the way we played tonight. Played hard. Got pucks to the net, bodies to the net. [It was] just unfortunate that we couldn't get down the shootout.”

Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet also shared positive takeaways from the game.

“I thought the energy was, you know, outstanding in those parts. You got to do it 60 and every game. So something to build on. I know it's the moral victory thing, but it is something to build on.”

The Flyers will get another chance tonight to earn their first win of the season when they take on the Detroit Red Wings.
